Given the english speaking nature of both the couple and the wedding this post is written in, you guessed it, english :)
Tori and Adam met in medical school, studying abroad – far away from both of their respective homesteads. Tori from Son, Norway and Adam from Hartford, Connecticut USA. Their wedding must be the most international wedding that at least I’ve ever seen. With people flying in from all over the world, and with origins from every corner of the earth. And yet, in situations like these, it really strikes me how small the world really is. The fact that two people with such an initial geographic distance as a starting point in life, could meet, fall in love, get married and create a new future together… I just find it so fascinating and it really makes one believe in fate, however banal it may sound.
We met for ice-creams by the piers of aker brygge. Their empathic and kind nature instantaneously affected me, and I knew this was going to be a beautiful wedding. These are two people who just fit together so well that they project this aura of joy, harmony and love around them. Think about the people that you just love to be around, and that makes you smile and feel good. Tori and Adam are such people. And now they are married :)
I love meeting and getting to know the couples before the wedding day. To me that’s almost the best part of being a photographer, because it makes me feel connected to the people I will photograph.
The day begun with Tori doing her hair and makeup at her friends house, as Adam and his best man, Erik, got ready at the Son Spa Hotel, which is also where the dinner and party was held. The beautiful Hvitsten Kirke was the place of the ceremony. With me during the day I had the absolute pleasure of having Moniek, an aspiring wedding photographer as my assistant. Thank you so much, Moniek.
It was a truly wonderful experience being your wedding photographer, Tori & Adam.
Thank you much for giving the honor of documenting your wedding day!
